What does this tool calculate?
This tool estimates the amount that may be owed for overtime, using the regular monthly salary, the standard daily work hours, and a minimum overtime rate of 50%.
Standard time
It is calculated by dividing the regular monthly salary by 30 days and then by the regular daily hours of the selected shift.
Overtime
It is calculated by applying a minimum surcharge of 50% to the regular hourly rate.
Outstanding amount
The overtime rate is multiplied by the hours entered, and previous payments or documented adjustments are subtracted.

- Overtime: Article 121 of the Labor Code provides that work performed outside regular working hours must be compensated at a rate of at least 50% more than the minimum wage or the higher agreed-upon wage.
- Daily limit: Pursuant to Article 122, regular and overtime hours combined must not exceed 12 hours per day, except for legally provided exceptions.
- Regular working hours: This tool uses as a reference 8 hours for the daytime shift, 7 hours for the mixed shift, and 6 hours for the night shift.
- Weekly work schedule: In addition to the daily limit, the weekly limit applicable to each type of shift must be reviewed.
- Breaks, days off, and holidays: This tool does not automatically calculate special scenarios. If the hours correspond to such cases, the specific situation must be reviewed.
- Base salary: the tool uses the ordinary monthly salary entered by the user, excluding the incentive bonus if so selected.
